If you've got warts, you're dealing with a viral issue. Since warts are caused by a virus, (and not by touching toads, as many of us were wrongly taught!) they can be spread to other parts of the skin and to other people.
Even though warts are harmless, they can be difficult to treat. Your doctor will choose a method of treatment based on the type and location of the warts, their size and number, the degree of tenderness when the wart is pressed, as well as your age, sex, and your history of previous treatment. Sometimes, your physician will recommend several different treatments as necessary - and sometimes the warts will fool everyone, disappearing all by themselves!
